What boxes do you provide for delivery to Romania?

We offer chemically strengthened cardboard boxes to protect your shipment during long overseas delivery journeys. Our most popular containers are Large (perfect for soft items like throws and pillows) and Standard (use for smaller, heavier things). See below for precise dimensions. Order more boxes than you think you'll need, and we'll collect any that remain unused and in brand-new condition for free.

Specially shaped boxes made from the same materials are available for the delivery of large items, such as sports equipment and musical instruments. Ensure they are suitably prepared, and we'll box them at our nearest depot before sending overseas.

You can use your own containers if necessary. However, please avoid laundry bags, plastic crates, used food boxes and bin liners. Weak containers such as these will easily break and could damage your other possessions.

Ship bags, boxes and more with our expert packing guide

It's important to properly pack your delivery before sending it overseas. Consider hiring professional packing services to do it for you. Otherwise, set aside some time and follow our 4 essential packing tips below. For more in-depth advice, read How to choose a box for shipping and Preparing large items for collection.

Secure your delivery boxes:

Gather all packing materials, like parcel tape and a suitable knife. Secure the base of your box by folding in the small flaps, then the large flaps, and then seal them shut with several layers of overlapping parcel tape.

Cover exposed edges with more tape, and then wrap all the way around the bottom for extra protection. Once full, secure the lid using the same process.

Be cautious with valuable things:

Cover everything with bubble wrap and use three or four layers for fragile goods. Place heavy items along the bottom of your box and lighter things above them and away from the sides.

Fill gaps with soft materials like kitchen towels or packing paper. Then, give your box a gentle shake. If you hear a sound, add more soft materials until it disappears.

Complete your inventory:

Log in to your online account and fill in your inventory, a list of everything you're sending to Romania. Customs officials will see this document, so accuracy is necessary to avoid fines and delays.

With a thick marker pen, write the job number, box number, and shipment owner's destination country and city on two sides of each container. Reference your inventory at the same time to ensure accuracy.

Prepare for collection day:

Weigh all your boxes, bags and suitcases on bathroom scales to ensure they weigh no more than our 30kg/66lbs limit. If a container is too heavy, move some items to one lighter.

For a successful collection day, take all your luggage as close to your building's exit as possible the evening before.
