How to securely load furniture into a MoveCube®
We want your beloved furniture items to arrive unscathed at your new home. For a stress-free experience, we recommend hiring a professional packing service. Otherwise, give yourself plenty of time and follow our 4 top tips below (for more in-depth advice, have a look at our helpful packing guides):
Fully declutter:
Save money for your move by walking from room to room and deciding which possessions you need to take. After all, there's little use for woolly hats or hot water bottles in Australia!
Use online auction platforms like eBay and Facebook Marketplace to sell surplus items. High street charity shops will happily accept anything in usable condition. Take everything else to your local recycling centre.
Be careful with fragile goods:
Seal your boxes with three layers of overlapping parcel tape. Repeat the process at the top. Cover all items with bubble wrap and use more than one layer for delicate items. Place heavy items at the bottom and lighter goods above and away from the sides.
Prepare your furniture for a long journey by disassembling to create space. Then, thoroughly wrap and cover with protective materials to prevent rubbing.
Save a parking spot for our vehicle:
Pay for parking tickets or permits before your MoveCube® loading day. Ideally, our driver will be able to park twenty metres or closer to the entrance to your home.
A trolly is available to help you move containers. Our drivers can answer questions and offer advice, but they must always keep the vehicle within eyesight.
Build the MoveCube® from the bottom to the top:
Place your heaviest furniture items, like sofas and washing machines, at the bottom and centre. Place lighter items and containers above and to the sides. Ensure all containers fit snugly — like a game of Tetris!
Fill gaps with a solid container. Avoid using loose items as they are more likely to break and cause damage during transportation.
Everything was seamless, from the collection of our stuff in the UK to the timely delivery of our MoveCube® in Australia. There were no hiccups, and the customer service was great. I would 100% recommend Seven Seas Worldwide.

Must-know furniture packing tips
Shipping furniture overseas can be stressful. So, making the transition as smooth and worry-free as possible before loading day is essential.
Protecting your furniture ensures these items comply with customs rules and limits the chance of damage in transit.
Follow our top 4 tips below for the best possible moving day experience:
- Minimise space: if you can disassemble your furniture, take them apart. Doing so makes lifting easier, lessens the chance of damage, and gives you more packing space inside the MoveCube®. Place all screws, nuts and bolts inside a labelled bag for quick access when reassembling.
- Clean thoroughly: ensure your furniture is clean and dry before packing to avoid damage or mould forming. Use a dry, clean cloth to remove dust or dirt. Fully drain washing machines and dishwashers of any liquid. Use a steam cleaner on upholstered and garden furniture to remove any remaining stains or odours.
- Cover everything: place foam or plastic corner protectors over sharp edges of coffee tables, sideboards, etc. Wrap all furniture in packing paper or moving blankets and secure them with tape or plastic wrap.
- Utilise space: take advantage of all available space by filling drawers and cupboards with small, soft items such as bedding or clothes. Then, close all drawers and doors shut with parcel tape (avoid placing tape directly onto your furniture as it can leave a sticky residue) to stop anything from falling out during transit.
