How to pack your shipping boxes in 4 straight-forward steps
Malaysia is thousands of miles from the Netherlands; therefore, it’s imperative that you securely wrap your goods before their long, strenuous journey. Dealing with damaged items is a headache you can avoid if you follow our four easy steps below to become a packing expert (find more detailed information in our Excess Baggage FAQs).
Organise your goods and assemble the boxes:
It's essential to simplify your packing process and start it sooner rather than later. Ensure that you organise what you need and don't need to make the process run smoothly. Order as many boxes from us as you need, and we’ll provide you with a free Starter Kit that includes bubble wrap, parcel tape, a marker pen and other packing necessities.
Protect your fragile items by wrapping thoroughly:
Protect your fragile items by ensuring that you wrap them thoroughly and leave no room for them to rattle around inside during transit. It's also important to remember to pack heavy items at the bottom and lighter items at the top.
Use plenty of tape:
It may seem counterintuitive but the more tape the better. The key to securing and strengthening your boxes is to ensure all seams are covered and the tape extends over the sides to prevent the lid from bursting open during transit. Furthermore, you can add more tape in a cross-pattern to further ensure your goods remain sealed.
Ensure you’re ready for our driver:
Finally, to keep the process running smoothly, use a marker (which Seven Seas Worldwide can provide) to clearly write your name and job number on both sides of every box you’re shipping to Malaysia. Also, ensure that you can pick up the box before our driver arrives as they aren't permitted to lift any items over 30kg/66lbs.
The website made booking and tracking easy. The shipment was handled well. It took approx. 3 months to get my shipment delivered from the UK to Malaysia. The shipment costs are stated clearly including the cost of customs clearance before I placed my booking. Made it easy for me to compare costs with other shipping companies. Overall, pleasant experience.
