Preparing your suitcases for international shipping

Once you've used our free instant quote tool to get a tailored cost, choose a convenient date for us to collect your luggage, then book. Before our driver arrives at your address, please pack your suitcases and bags securely so we can transport them to our nearest depot. For safety, we can't accept any containers over 30kg/66lbs. So, weigh each luggage item on bathroom scales and split the contents of any exceeding this limit.

We place each suitcase and bag into a larger box at our depot to protect your belongings on their overseas journey. However, to avoid unwanted charges, you must provide us with accurate measurements and be sure to account for things that protrude, like wheels and handles.

To measure your suitcases, follow these three simple steps:

  1. Place your suitcase's smallest end on the floor.
  2. Measure the case's height, length and width. Remember to include anything that sticks out, such as side handles, buckles or wheels. Note that the maximum accepted suitcase size is 89cm height, 59cm length, and 49cm wide.
  3. We'll place your luggage in a larger box at our depot, so double-check your measurements for accuracy.
Before our driver arrives at your address, please pack your suitcases and bags securely so we can transport them to our nearest depot.

Why ship luggage instead of paying for excess baggage?

Holidays are for making memories, not worrying about soaring airline baggage fees and the stress of dragging heavy bags from A to B. Instead, use our luggage shipping service to travel with your belongings without breaking the bank or a sweat!

Ideal for sending your goods home at the end of a trip when you don't need them in a hurry, we primarily ship by sea rather than air, saving you money and hassle. Plus, this transportation method produces fewer CO2 emissions, making it better for the planet.

All you need to do is book online, pack your bags and complete the documentation. Our expert team will then collect your shipment from your door, transport it overseas, handle customs clearance and deliver it to the destination address. And the best thing is we control the process end to end, so we'll be with you every step.

Ship luggage and more with our high-quality boxes

To protect your luggage on its overseas journey, we place each bag and suitcase into a larger, purpose-built box at our depot before shipping. These containers are made from double-walled cardboard and chemically strengthened for maximum security. We even have specially-shaped boxes for bulky items like golf clubs and guitars.

Also, using our Boxes and Bags Worldwide service, we can provide Large and Standard boxes (see below for dimensions) for you to fill with household items that might not fit into your luggage, like duvets or kitchen appliances. Do note, though, to keep yourselves and our drivers safe, we can't take containers heavier than 30kg/66lbs. Instead, weigh each one on bathroom scales before collection and split the contents of any exceeding this limit.

How to pack suitcases, bags and boxes efficiently

Trying to squeeze everything you need for a long-distance trip into a suitcase or rucksack can be a headache. But, with our expert tips and a little patience, you, too, can maximise space, prevent breakages and become a packing wizard. Don't forget to read our in-depth packing guides for more valuable advice!

one

Narrow down your must-haves:

If you're overseas for a long time, stuffing your bags with home comforts can be tempting. But the less you pack, the cheaper your luggage will be to ship!

Start by laying out everything you think you'll need, then remove any items that fall into the 'just in case I need it' category. Also, opting for a travel-sized microfiber towel and fold-away raincoat are great space savers.

two

Try rolling, not folding:

Maximise space and minimise wrinkles by rolling clothes instead of folding them. This trusted technique works exceptionally well when packing duffle bags and backpacks, as it enables you to use every inch of space.

And remember to utilise those forgotten corners, too! For example, shoes are brilliant for filling with socks, scarves, sunglasses and more.

three

Cushion fragile items:

Wrap thick jumpers or towels around fragile items to ensure they arrive in one piece. Then, rather than placing them against the sides of the case, put them in the centre so your other goods act as a buffer.

A good test of your skills is to give each luggage item a gentle shake after packing. If you hear movement, add more soft items until your belongings are secure.

four

Avoid packing under pressure:

Throwing items into bags and suitcases in a last-minute rush causes unnecessary stress. Instead, give yourself plenty of time!

To ensure a smooth shipping experience check our Prohibited Goods page before packing, complete the Inventory Packing List as you fill your bags and move your luggage to the address's entrance before our driver arrives to collect them.

Singapore

The Lion City is a fascinating clash of contrasts. Futuristic architecture looms over incense-scented temples, and full-throttle amusement parks sit beside lush greenspaces. What this tiny island-state lacks in size, it certainly makes up for in innovation.

Breathe deeply in the Gardens by the Bay: a fantasyland of winding treetop walks, misty biodomes and high-tech Supertree structures — this city park is like no other. Visit in the evening to witness the dazzling light show.

Meet Singapore's mascot: overlooking Marina Bay is the city's iconic 28-foot merlion statue. Many believe this water-shooting half-lion, half-fish stone statue guards Singapore's prosperity.

Scream to go faster on Sentosa Island: a purpose-built island off Singapore's southern tip, thrill seekers flock to Sentosa's many theme parks while sun-worshippers love catching rays on its sandy beaches.

Get lost in Chinatown: immerse yourself in Chinese culture while gorging on mouthwatering street food in this characterful district packed with ancient shrines, twisting alleyways and traditional wet markets.
