However, avoid extra charges by working out the dimensions of your suitcases, including wheels and handles.
To accurately measure your suitcases, follow these three steps:
- Stand your suitcase upright.
- Measure its height, length and width (depth), including anything that sticks out, such as wheels, handles or buckles. Our maximum accepted suitcase size is 89cm height, 59cm length, and 49cm width.
- We'll place your suitcase in a bigger box at our depot for protection, but please double-check your measurements to ensure accuracy.

Preparing extra large items and sports equipment to ship to China
Are you heading to China for some fun adventures? As well as excess baggage, you can ship bikes, snowboards, surfboards and much more. China is a massive country, full of mixed terrains and climates, perfect for sports and outdoor activities. From skiing 2022 Winter Olympic slopes to surf competitions in Riyue Bay, visitors travel far and wide for the pleasure.
Like suitcases and rucksacks, we'll box your sports equipment into specially shaped, chemically strengthened containers at our depot. But please ensure you securely prepare your large items before collection. Include original bags or suitcases if you still have them, and wrap everything in a few or more layers of bubble wrap.
Remember to thoroughly clean and dry all your equipment. You could endure delays or additional charges if environmental agencies in China discover dirt and organic matter. Check out our Chinese Customs Advice page for more information.
Shipping luggage to China with our high-quality boxes
If you ship items to China outside of your suitcases or rucksacks, we offer robust cardboard boxes for complete protection. Our best-selling containers are Large (perfect for bedding, coats and other soft items) and Standard (books and other smaller, solid items). See below for the exact dimensions. Order more boxes than you think you'll need, and we'll collect any that remain unused and brand-new for free.
You can use your own boxes and bags. But please avoid laundry bags, plastic crates, used food boxes and bin liners. Such weak containers will likely break and cause damage to the rest of your possessions.
