What secure shipping boxes do we provide?

Our overseas delivery service offers strong boxes designed to protect your possessions when sending luggage abroad. Made from chemically strengthened, double-walled cardboard, our most requested sizes are Large and Standard (see below for precise dimensions). Order plenty, and we'll collect for free any boxes that remain unused and in brand-new condition.

We also have specially shaped containers made from the same high-quality materials for sending musical instruments and sports equipment, such as guitars, skis and snowboards, abroad. All you have to do is prepare them securely, and we'll box them at our closest depot.

You may use your own containers to pack. However, please avoid plastic crates, laundry bags, used food boxes and bin liners, as such weak containers will likely break during transit and damage your entire delivery shipment.

We make the customs clearance process in Croatia easy

There's no customs clearance if you're sending belongings from a European Union (EU) country to Croatia. For the rest of the world, our worldwide delivery experts take care of the customs process for you. However, there are some important things you should know.

Ensure your delivery shipment is free from any banned or restricted items. Like all countries, Croatia has a list of goods you cannot import to protect its population and environment. Before packing your delivery, reference our Prohibited Goods page to avoid delays or fines.

Next, log into your Seven Seas Worldwide account and complete the following:

  • An inventory listing everything you're sending to Croatia. Customs officials will see it, so please ensure accuracy.
  • Optional insurance forms for extra protection in the rare occurrence your delivery is damaged or lost.
  • A copy of your passport — colour scans of the picture and signature pages of the shipment owner's passport.

EU members can send used personal belongings into Croatia for free. The same applies to non-EU members if you meet the following conditions:

  • You have lived outside the EU for at least one year (or can prove you intended to do so).
  • You have personally owned and used the items for at least six months outside of Croatia.
  • You import your goods six months before or twelve months after arriving in Croatia.
  • You submit a written request to the Croatian customs office documenting your previous stay abroad, your Croatian residency and other relevant paperwork.
  • You must not sell or rent out your items within a year of your arrival in Croatia.

Please refer to the Republic of Croatia Ministry of Finance Customs Administration website for the latest information. Our multilingual customer service team is available 24/7 to answer any customs or delivery-related questions.

Securely pack your shipment with our 4-step guide

We strongly recommend hiring professional packers who can help ease some stress. Otherwise, give yourself plenty of time to pack carefully and follow our step-by-step guide below. For further in-depth packing tips, read How to choose a shipping box and Preparing large items for collection.

Thoroughly seal each box:

Gather your packing materials, such as a knife and parcel tape. Fold in the small flaps and then the bigger flaps to secure your box's base, then apply three layers of overlapping parcel tape.

Cover any exposed edges with more parcel tape, then wrap all around the base. Once full of items, seal the lid similarly.

Give extra care to fragile items:

Use two layers of bubble wrap on all items and several layers for more delicate goods. Put heavy items at the bottom of your delivery box with lighter things above them and towards the centre.

Fill gaps with soft materials like packing paper, newspaper or towels. Give your box a little shake — if it makes a sound, add more soft materials until it's silent.

Complete your inventory:

Log into your online account and complete your inventory, a list of everything you want to ship Croatia. Customs officials will see it, so please be accurate.

Using a marker pen, write your job number, box number, and the delivery shipment owner's destination country and city/town on two sides of every container. Cross-reference with your inventory to ensure all details match.

Enjoy a happy collection day:

For your and our driver's safety, the max weight for each container is 30kg/66lbs. Weigh everything one at a time on bathroom scales. If a box, bag or suitcase exceeds the limit, remove some items and place them in a lighter container.

For a hassle-free collection day experience, move all your containers as close to your building's entrance as possible the night before.

Fantastic! I have used this delivery company multiple times to ship my belongings abroad, and every time has been really good. They are quick to respond to emails and requests and are very good at keeping you updated with tracking. Highly recommend!

Best things to do in Croatia's most popular cities

Croatia is an unforgettable travel destination that combines the beauty of the Adriatic coast with fascinating historical landmarks. Explore pristine beaches, ancient cities and charming rural towns wrapped in a Mediterranean climate.

Here's our pick of the Republic of Croatia's best-known hotspots in four of its most-visited cities:

Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik, often called the 'Pearl of the Adriatic', is famous for its well-preserved medieval architecture, historic highlights, and memorable coastal views. The entire city, with its ancient walls and cobbled streets, is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Walk ancient defensive walls: the Walls of Dubrovnik are a 13th-century wonder, with breathtaking views over the Adriatic Sea and the old town. The entire walk takes around two hours, with each corner revealing a new and fascinating insight into the past.

Explore Fort Lovrijenac: known as "Dubrovnik's Gibraltar", this impressive fortress was last used for defence during the Napoleonic wars! The medieval stronghold's dramatic backdrops famously appear in many films and TV shows, most notably HBO's Game of Thrones

Soak up some sunshine: a short stroll from the old town, Banje Beach is the perfect place to unwind. Enjoy crystal-clear waters, jet skiing, parasailing and magnificent views of the ancient city walls at this popular family hotspot.

Visit a 15th-century landmark: Rector's Palace, a stunning Gothic-Renaissance building, once served as the seat of the Rector of the Republic of Ragusa. Now home to the Cultural History Museum, it features artefacts and exhibits from Dubrovnik's past.

Split

Split is a dynamic coastal city where ancient Roman architecture meets modern Dalmatian life. Its bustling streets are alive with history, from the remains of Diocletian's Palace to the medieval bell tower of the Cathedral of Saint Domnius.

Wander through a 4th-century structure: Diocletian's Palace, a stunning UNESCO World Heritage site, is one of the world's best-preserved Roman buildings. The palace seamlessly integrates into the city's fabric, with restaurants, shops and homes built within its walls.

Climb the 'Lungs of Split': head to Marjan Hill for sweeping city views. It's an ideal spot for hiking and cycling, with 360° views of Split and its nearby islands. Explore historic chapels and find serene spots ideal for picnics.

Relax at Bacvice Beach: Split's most famous beach is the birthplace of Picigin, a traditional Croatian ball game played in shallow water. The surrounding area has bars, cafes, and restaurants, making it a lively and family-friendly destination.

Visit a 4th-century church: the Cathedral of Saint Domnius is the oldest Catholic cathedral in the world still in use today. Originally built as a Roman mausoleum, its bell tower was added during the medieval period, offering a fascinating glimpse into Split's ancient past.

Zagreb

The capital is Croatia's cultural epicentre. Famous for its medieval architecture, lively markets and dynamic streets, Zagreb showcases past and contemporary Croatian life, from the medieval Upper Town to its open-air markets.

Shop 'til you drop: Dolac Market's bustling open-air stalls sell everything from fresh produce and artisan products to traditional Croatian snacks. It's more than just a shopping destination: it's a vibrant hub where locals gather to socialise.

Explore medieval streets: Upper Town, known locally as 'Gornji Grad', is a maze of narrow streets, home to landmarks like St. Mark's Church and Lotrščak Tower. Discover art galleries, charming cafes and lively street performers that add to the town's unique character.

Say a last goodbye to your ex: one of Zagreb's quirkiest attractions, the Museum of Broken Relationships, features a collection of objects from around the world representing the end of past relationships and their emotional stories.

Visit one of Zagreb's oldest green spaces: spanning 18 hectares, Maksimir Park is perfect for a leisurely walk or picnic. Remember to check out Zagreb Zoo, which features over 200 animal species, including camels, leopards, emus, sea lions and monkeys.

Zadar

Zadar is a city that blends ancient history with modern attractions along the Adriatic coast. Highlights include the 1st-century Roman forum, the medieval Church of St. Donatus, and a sea organ, which uses waves to create music!

Discover 12th-century fortifications: Zadar City Walls is a UNESCO World Heritage site that offers a fascinating glimpse into the city's defensive past. Take a scenic walk atop the walls and explore nearby attractions like Five Wells Square.

Find your inner 1st-century centurion: explore the remains of Zadar's Roman forum, built by Emperor Augustus. Remember to visit the nearby Church of St. Donatus, an example of early medieval architecture built on the forum's foundations.

Listen to the sounds of the sea: the Zadar Sea Organ is an innovative art installation that harnesses the power of the sea to create music. Hear hauntingly beautiful sounds as waves crash into pipes beneath the promenade marble steps.

Enjoy the sounds of St. Donatus: this 9th-century former church is one of Zadar's most famous landmarks. Thanks to its excellent acoustics, the building, with its unique pre-Romanesque architecture, is used today as a classical concert venue.
