What type of shipping boxes are available?
We offer containers designed to protect your belongings during long overseas journeys to Mauritius. Made from double-walled, chemically-strengthened cardboard, our most requested sizes are Large and Standard. See below for the exact dimensions. Order more than you think you need. If you have left over unused boxes still in brand-new condition, we'll collect them for free.
Specially-shaped boxes made from the same materials are available for sending large items, such as surfboards and guitars. Wrap them thoroughly, and we'll box them at our closest depot.
You can use your own containers. But please avoid laundry bags, plastic crates, used food boxes and bin liners. Such weak containers will likely break in transit and could cause damage to the rest of your delivery shipment.

Ship bags and boxes abroad with our packing guide
Packing all your possessions as securely as possible when sending to Mauritius is essential. We recommend using professional packing services to ease some stress. Otherwise, take your time and follow our 4 expert tips below. For even more in-depth advice, reference How to choose a box for shipping and Preparing large items for collection.
Secure each delivery box:
Gather your packing materials, like parcel tape and a knife. Fold in your box's flaps and seal them shut with three layers of overlapping parcel tape.
Cover exposed edges by wrapping all around the base. Once your box is complete, secure the lid using the same process.
Be cautious with delicate items:
Cover everything in bubble wrap and use several layers for fragile things. Place your heaviest items along the bottom of your box and lighter effects above and towards the centre.
Stuff gaps with soft materials like packing paper or kitchen towels. Give your box a little shake. If you hear a sound, add more soft materials.
Complete your inventory:
Log in to your account and fill in your inventory — a list of everything inside your containers. Customs officials in Mauritius will have access to it, so please be accurate.
Using a dark marker pen, write the job number, box number, and shipment owner's destination country and town/city on two sides of every container. Double-check with your inventory as you write.
Prepare for collection day:
The max weight limit for each piece of luggage is 30kg/66lbs to protect both you and our driver. Weigh each container on bathroom scales. If one exceeds the limit, remove some items and put them in a lighter box.
Finally, move all delivery containers as close as possible to your building's entrance the night before collection day.
Seven Seas Worldwide has never let me down or caused any unexpected problems over many years. The transition from paper input to an integrated electronic system has been a major change over the years. This works well and allows me to keep up to date with the delivery/collection of my shipment. The staff who collect/deliver boxes here in the UK have maintained high standards throughout. When it has been necessary to connect with customer services, I have never been disappointed in the quality of the service.
