  • You intend to make Bahrain your new place of residence.
  • You are the owner of all items.
  • You import your goods within six months of your arrival in Bahrain.
  • You only import a small number of CDs, DVDs, LDs, and VCDs (large quantities will incur charges).

Prohibited goods

Like all countries, Bahrain has restricted certain items to protect its citizens and environment.

These include hazardous goods in classes 5.1, 5.2, 4.2, and 4 and most class 2.1 and 2.3 materials, except for UN1950, in limited quantities. All types of lithium batteries (UN3090, UN3091, UN3480, UN3481, UN3536) are banned, whether classified as dangerous goods or not. A Dangerous Goods Note (DGN) and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) are essential for all hazardous goods. The sender is responsible for any fines, penalties, or additional charges for undeclared or restricted items.

Before you pack, check our Prohibitive Goods page and reference the official Bahrain Ministry of Interior for Customs Affairs website and the Bahrain FIDI Global Alliance Customs Guide.
